What is SOC 2?

Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC 2 is an auditing procedure that ensures service providers, such as PractiTest, securely manage its data to protect the interests of your organization and your privacy.

The SOC 2 type 2 certification is issued by outside auditors (PractiTest was audited by E&Y) and covers in detail the practices and infrastructure used to ensure: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of all PractiTest users.

While the content of PractiTest’s SOC 2 report is company specific, it is based on internationally recognized industry standards and principles:

Security

Protection of system resources against unauthorized access, system abuse prevention, data theft, misuse of software, and improper handling of information.

Availability

The accessibility of the system, products or services such as: network performance, site failover and security incident handling.

Processing integrity

Whether or not a system achieves its purpose. Accordingly, data processing must be complete, valid, accurate, timely and authorized.

Confidentiality

Assuring Data can only be accessed or disclosed (as defined) to specific persons or organizations. Such as business plans, intellectual property, internal price lists and other types of sensitive financial information.
