There are a few actions available in each of the module’s grids (Requirements, Test Library, Test Sets & Runs and Issues). Some of these actions are available in all grids and some are specific to modules. All actions can be performed only after selecting/ticking entities from the grid (Tests in Test Library, Test Sets in Test Sets & Runs, Issues in Issues and Requirements in Requirements).

Find and Replace - Replace the same phrase in a few entities in one action

(available in Requirements, Test Library, Test Sets and Runs, Issues)
In the grid, choose the entities (tests, requirements, tests sets or issues) you want to perform the action on and Press the find & replace button.

Enter a phrase you want to replace in the ‘Find’ field, and the value you want to replace it with in the ‘Replace with’ field. Please note the 'Find & Replace' action is case sensitive.
Choose to which areas and fields you want to apply the search. You can choose to replace it in all fields or to select only title fields, description fields and so on.

After you press ‘Find & Replace’ you will get a notice of how many entities you are about to change (For example if you chose 10 entities but the word you want to replace appears only in 4). After you confirm the action, the phrase you entered will be replaced in the fields you selected in the entities you chose.

Batch Edit Fields - Edit fields of a few entities in one action.

In the grid, choose the entities (tests, requirements, tests sets or issues) you want to perform the action on and Press the ‘Batch Edit’ button.

Choose/tick the fields you want to edit in the entities you chose and enter the value you want them to receive. You can add a comment to the updated entities and enable or disable an email notification of this batch edit.

Batch Clone - Clone and modify one or more entities in one action

(available in Test Library, Test Sets and Runs)
In the grid, choose the entities (tests or tests sets) you want to clone and Press the ‘Clone’ button.

In the next window you can also modify fields of the cloned entities, add a comment to them, create a new filter for them in the grid view and enable or disable an email notification of this clone.
You can also clone the selected entities to a different PractiTest project. In this case, if you want to clone the values of custom fields, you must make sure the target project has equivalent fields with the exact names.

Create a TestSet and Add Test to TestSet (Available in Test Library)

You can create a test set based on selected tests, or add selected tests to an existing test set from the Test Library window (and not only from the Test Sets & Runs window)

Create a Test Set (Available in Requirements)

You can create a test set based on the tests associated to the requirements you select in the Requirements grid. Choose the requirements in the requirement grid, press the “Create a Test Set” button, and a new test set will be created based on the chosen requirement traceability. Once you save the new Test Set, you will see test instances pre-populated based on the tests linked to the chosen requirement.

Create Permutations

(available in Test Sets and Runs)
Test Set Permutations let you create copies of test sets based on different combinations of chosen fields' values. This will save you time when testing the same thing over a large number of platforms, languages, configurations and more.
